CPS Mediator Course Description

This 20-Hour training course introduces the principles and practices of mediation within the context of Child Protective Services (CPS). Designed for professional mediators who want to learn how to mediate CPS cases, this course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to facilitate constructive dialogue and create resolutions in complex CPS cases.

Who Should Take This Course

Trained Family Mediators who want to become CPS Mediators in the state of Texas; attorneys; social workers and counselors.

This course is 100% online via Zoom

There are Five (5), four (4) hour course classes planned. Each class must be conducted in order. Any preceding sessions that are not conducted by student must be completed before starting the next session.

Students must provide proof of completing the 40-Hour Basic Mediation Course and the 30-hour Advanced Family Mediation Course to meet the requirements to train as a CPS Mediator. Judy Wells is an experienced mediator with decades of experience. She has helped resolve differences between parties by helping each to feel heard and then helping the parties find common ground from which an agreement can be forged. She works well with parties who have attorneys as well as with parties that forego legal representation.

JUDY HAS BEEN TEACHING THE CPS MEDIATOR COURSE FOR MANY YEARS. SHE IS A DISTINGUISHED CREDENTIALED mediator WITH THE TEXAS MEDIATOR CREDENTIALING ASSOCIATION FOR 2023 AND IS A MEMBER OF THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF MEDIATORS.
